Steene Signs On….

Collingwood is excited to announce that Oscar Steene has put pen to paper, signing on for the 2025 season.

Collingwood Football Club has confirmed that rising talent Oscar Steene has officially signed a new contract, extending his stay at the club for the 2025 AFL season. Known for his athleticism and on-field versatility, Steene’s signing represents an exciting investment in the club’s future as they work to build a young, competitive squad.

Steene, who joined Collingwood as a promising rookie, has steadily proven his worth, showcasing strong skills in the ruck and around the ground. The decision to re-sign him highlights the club’s confidence in his potential to further develop into a key player. At just 21, Steene has already made an impression with his work ethic, game intelligence, and resilience, quickly becoming a fan favorite.

In a press statement, Collingwood’s head coach praised Steene’s impact on the team, stating, “Oscar has shown incredible commitment to our team and a genuine hunger for improvement. Steene signed on as a rookie after training with Collingwood through the AFL’s Supplementary Selection Period in November 2022.

Whilst he is yet to make his AFL debut, the 21-year-old has played 18 games with the Club’s VFL side but was limited to just one appearance in 2024 having sustained a toe injury early in the season.
