Burnley ‘ready to pay’ €16m to sign attacker – Kompany ‘completely fallen in love’ with him
Burnley are making efforts to sign Ajax’s Mohamed Daramy, according to BT in Denmark.
The Eredivisie side took the winger from FC Copenhagen in 2021 and sent him back on loan to the Danish club last season, where he managed nine goals and seven assists from 41 games.
Back in April, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany watched Copenhagen’s 2-1 win over FC Nordsjælland. The 21-year-old impressed in this match, scoring the equaliser.
The Denmark international was one of the standout players at FC Copenhagen last season and it’s claimed Kompany has ‘completely fallen in love’ with him.
Ajax paid around DKK 100m [€13.4m] and the report says Burnley are negotiating to sign the attacker for a fee greater than what the Dutch club invested.
In fact, BT state the Clarets are ‘ready to pay’ €16m for Daramy. This would allow Ajax to make a profit from the sale of a player who won’t have a vital role next season.
The website adds Daramy has interest from other clubs while also suggests the Premier League ‘currently looks like’ his next potential destination. It needs to be seen if Burnley can get the deal over the line in the ‘coming days or weeks’.

BURNLEY BEGIN NEGOTIATIONS TO SIGN MOHAMED DARAMY FROM AJAX
According to Fabrizio Romano, Burnley have opened talks to sign Mohamed Daramy from Ajax. Vincent Kompany wants to sign the 21-year-old Danish winger, but Ajax rate the player highly. Negotiations are currently ongoing over a permanent deal as Kompany sees the youngster as a top target.
Mohamed Daramy joined Ajax from FC Copenhagen in the summer of 2021. The Dutch giants spent €12m on the left-winger who was 19 years old at the time of the transfer. Daramy struggled to impress in Amsterdam, which resulted in the player being loaned back to FC Copenhagen last season. In total, he featured 41 times for the Danish side, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists.
Daramy has only featured 16 times for the Ajax first team. However, with a new manager at the wheel in Maurice Steijn, there’s a possibility that the winger could receive more game time this season. A move to Burnley is set to be on the cards, and it’s certainly one that he won’t shy away from. Daramy has plenty of potential and could certainly excel in the Premier League under Vincent Kompany.

Vincent Kompany’s Burnley are closing in on the signature of 23-year-old Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga.
According to a report by Football Insider, Burnley are keen on having Albert Sambi Lokonga in their ranks, and they have managed to strike a deal with Arsenal for his transfer. Vincent Kompany’s team are looking to bolster their squad as they prepare for their return to the English top flight. And the arrival of the 23-year-old will surely help their cause.
Kompany’s Burnley were sensational last season in the Championship. They were a class above the rest and ended up securing promotion to the Premier League. While they did dominate the English second division, life in the English top flight won’t be easy. As a result, they are trying to reinforce their squad.
The Clarets have been interested in acquiring the services of the 23-year-old midfielder for a while now. And, he is keen on making the move to the newly-promoted Premier League club. Lokonga joined Arsenal back in the summer of 2021 for a fee of £17.2 million.
He was expected to force his way into the first team but has failed to live up to the expectations. In the winter of 2023, he was sent out on a short loan to Crystal Palace. But, the move did not go according to plan as he featured in a total of nine matches and hardly had any impact.
The 23-year-old is back at his parent club. But he is unlikely to have an important role next season, and Arsenal are ready to let him leave the club. Kompany is keen on having him in his ranks having worked with the Arsenal midfielder while he was at Anderlecht.
Even Lokonga wants to reunite with the former Manchester City defender who he considers to be an idol. Both the club have been in talks for a while now, and they have finally reached an agreement over a loan move.
With all parties in full agreement, the move should be complete in the coming days. At this point in time, they are discussing a potential buy clause for next year. Given that Arsenal are ready to offload the 23-year-old for the right price, there is a real possibility of the deal having such a clause.
