Sounds like the Vikings have agreed to terms with former Packers LB Eric Wilson, per source. Wilson played more than 500 defensive snaps last year in GB, key special teamer as well.

Packers likely won’t earn a 2026 compensatory draft pick.

Center Josh Myers’ contract with the New York Jets isn’t what it was originally reported as..

It’s silly season. So when players sign contracts in free agency, you often have to wait for the full contract details to be released before you can understand the true number a free agent actually agreed to. A great example of this is the deal that former Green Bay Packers center Josh Myers signed with the New York Jets. Initially reported as a one-year, $3.5 million deal, Myers actually signed a one-year, $2 million deal that includes $1.5 million in incentives.

First of all, that’s an incredibly low number for a three-year starter. Myers is making close to the league minimum for a player with his experience in the league.

Secondly, this probably knocks the Packers out of the compensatory pick running for the 2026 season. As it stands now, 2025 free agents who sign for an “average per year” of $3 million can earn their previous team a comp pick for 2026. Green Bay has lost two such players in free agency: defensive tackle T.J. Slaton ($7.05 million APY) and cornerback Eric Stokes ($4 million APY). The signings of guard Aaron Banks and cornerback Nate Hobbs have canceled out those two players in the comp pick formula. Had the Packers not signed a free agent this offseason, Slaton would have earned them a sixth-round pick and Stokes would have netted them a seventh-round pick.

With Myers falling short of the $3 million APY threshold and running back AJ Dillon, who signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, unlikely to have hit that number, the path for Green Bay to earn a comp pick in 2026 has narrowed. For the Packers to receive an extra pick in 2026, they’ll have to punt the rest of free agency and hope one of tight end Tyler Davis, tackle Andre Dillard, linebacker Eric Wilson, cornerback Corey Ballentine or cornerback Robert Rochell receive a contract earning them at least $3 million per year.

It seems unlikely that any of those players will be able to hit that mark, though, Wilson and Ballentine probably have the best chance to among the group.
