Latest Birmingham City news as the injury diagnosis and recovery timescale for Krystian Bielik is revealedBirmingham City have confirmed that midfielder Krystian Bielik will be out for two to three weeks with a minor hamstring strain.

The 25-year-old has been left out of the Blues’ training camp squad out in Spain after picking up an injury against Solihull Moors last time out. He played the first half but was in discomfort just before the break, and did not make it out for the second half of the 1-0 win.

Blues have now confirmed Bielik’s injury diagnosis and a timescale for his recovery. In a statement issued on Monday, they said: “The club is able to provide an update on Krystian Bielik.

“The midfielder was withdrawn from Blues’ pre-season training camp in Spain after feeling tightness during The Arthur Cup against Solihull Moors.

“He was, therefore, sent for a precautionary scan which revealed a minor hamstring strain that is expected to keep him out for an estimated two to three weeks.”

While the midfielder’s injury will not be a long-term one, he would not have been able to participate in training sessions with his Blues teammates out in Spain, nor feature in the friendly FC Cartagena on Friday night.

Bielik is one of four senior players omitted from the squad for Spain. In-demand winger Tahith Chong hasn’t made the trip, while George Hall and Sam Cosgrove have also stayed at home for treatment
