Crystal Palace have just made approach to sign £20m Nottingham Forest player
Crystal Palace have enquired about the availability of Nottingham Forest forward Emmanuel Dennis.
The Nigerian forward joined the club in a deal up to £20 million last summer but has failed to hit the heights he achieved at Watford.
Dennis made 19 appearances for Steve Cooper’s side in all competitions last campaign, scoring twice including a delightful lob against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.
However, the 25-year-old isn’t in boss Cooper’s plans for this season, with Dennis free to leave should an acceptable offer come in for him.
The former Hornets striker didn’t feature in the matchday squad at Arsenal last weekend, reiterating the Reds’ stance on his future at the club.
Emmanuel Dennis could be one step closer to leaving the Reds
Despite joining the club with great promise, Dennis hasn’t really made a huge impact during his one-year stint at the City Ground.
He has been subject to interest from multiple sides in Saudi Arabia, however, he rejected the proposals as he wanted to stay and play for a side in Europe.
Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace could provide a good fit for Dennis as they look for a replacement for Wilfred Zaha after he left to join Turkish side Galatasaray on a free transfer.
Dennis is a versatile forward, able to play up front and out wide, making him quite a useful asset for Palace to have.
Despite his below-par campaign at the City Ground last season, Dennis has shown he is capable of being a Premier League forward.
Back in the 2021/22 campaign, he came up with 16 goal contributions in 33 top-flight games despite Watford suffering relegation.
He could be a good option for Hodgson’s side, with Forest looking to sell him this window raising funds for FFP and providing money for other areas such as central midfield and left wing-back.
