Stoke City and Hull City race to sign Swansea City star Liam Cullen
Stoke and Hull are monitoring Liam Cullen‘s situation at Swansea City as they look to bolster their attacking options, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old is in the final year of his contract at the Championship club and as yet has not been offered a new deal.
Stoke and Hull are keen to bring in a new striker and Cullen has some of the best stats in the second tier, having scored eight goals in just 15 league starts last season.
Cullen has started both of Swansea’s opening two Championship games on the bench and his suitors are keeping tabs on his situation at Swansea.
The Championship duo could look to strike a deal in the final few weeks of the window if Swansea are willing to let him leave.
Cullen has spent his entire career at the Welsh club, joining their youth academy at the age of eight.
After graduating to the senior squad in 2018, Cullen has gone on to score 13 goals and register four assists in 73 appearances across all competitions.
However, he has struggled to cement a starting spot at Swansea with the prolific duo of Jerry Yates and Joel Piroe currently ahead of him in Michael Duff’s pecking order.
Piroe has been linked with a move away from Swansea this summer with Football Insider revealing last month that he was valued at £20million amid interest from Leeds United and Southampton.
But a deal for the Dutch striker has not come to fruition, leaving Cullen as a fringe player in the squad.
