Tim Krul: Luton Town sign Dutch goalkeeper from Norwich City
Luton Town have brought in Netherlands goalkeeper Tim Krul from Norwich City.
Krul, 35, becomes the 10th new signing made this summer by the Premier League newcomers.
He leaves Carrow Road after five seasons and 169 appearances, during which time he twice won the Championship.
With Krul departing, the Canaries have brought in George Long on a free transfer from Millwall.
Krul, capped 15 times by his country, brings Premier League experience to Luton, having previously spent six seasons with Newcastle United in the top flight.
He will compete alongside Belgian Thomas Kaminski, who arrived at Kenilworth Road this summer from Blackburn Rovers.
“Tim has been an outstanding servant for Norwich City,” sporting director Stuart Webber told the club’s website. “He has been a top class goalkeeper and leader during his time with the club.”
New Canaries goalkeeper Long spent two seasons at The Den and played 37 Championship games last season for Millwall.
The 29-year-old will provide support for Scotland keeper Angus Gunn.

IMilan to sign Spurs defender on loan
Luton Town are reportedly competing with Italian giants Inter Milan for the loan signing of Spurs defender Japhet Tanganga.
The 24-year-old who came through the ranks with the Hatters’ Premier League rivals, has made 50 appearances since turning pro in 2019, although only featured seven times last season.
Tanganga has played for England at U16 to U21 level during his time in north London, but was left out of new boss Ange Postecoglou’s first matchday squad for the 2-2 draw against Brentford last weekend.
According to the Daily Express, the defender has had interest from both the Hatters and the Serie A giants, if they miss out on top defensive target Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard, who is valued at around £38m, with Spurs’ fierce rivals Arsenal are also interested in the Frenchman after a long-term injury to summer addition Jurrien Timber.
Sent out on loan to the League Two club, Colchester United, Joe has started the season in great form, scoring 4 goals in his 4 appearances, including 2 in the game against MK Dons yesterday, a fixture Colchester United unfortunately lost 3-2.
It augers well for the future, if Joe can keep this scoring form up.
He may only be playing League Two football but as they say, you can only perform against what is put in front of you.
Keep on scoring Joe, you never know where it might lead to
In my article – forward-sent-on-a-season-long-loan – I mentioned that if Aribim was to resurrect a fading Luton Town career, he would have to score a hatful of goals, especially after dropping into non-league football.
Indeed, it seems that Aribim needs to follow the example set by another of our young forwards sent out on loan, Joe Taylor.
Now Taylor will always have a place in our hearts after having the testicular fortitude to successfully take one of the penalties in the epic shoot-out, against Coventry City, at Wembley last season.
