Aston Villa player ‘still wants’ exit before end of transfer window – Emery ‘thinking twice’ about allowing it

Walking away from the 5-0 win over Hibernian with three assists, Lucas Digne has put a few doubts in the mind of Unai Emery when it comes to getting rid of him.

The player was very close to signing for OGC Nice on loan with an option to buy, but that was put on hold until Aston Villa found a replacement.

The Ligue 1 side have been waiting, and Nice-Mtin on Friday bring an update on the situation, recalling that Digne turned down an option from Saudi Arabia to prioritise a move to the south of France.

Despite Emery’s words that the Frenchman was closer to staying than leaving, the player himself ‘still wants’ to move to Nice if he can.

The aborted transfer for Marcos Acuña hasn’t helped the situation, and this is all making the Spanish manager ‘thinking twice’ about letting the 30-year-old leave.
