Burnley Exploring Move For Southampton Attacking Target

The Clarets are hunting a goal-getter before the transfer window closes and have just been rejected as an option by AC Milan hitman Divock Origi.

Now they are fishing in Vincent Kompany’s native Belgium and are keen on Genk’s Paintsil, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Paintsil is a player that Southampton have been trying to sign, with a swap deal involving Paul Onuachu mooted.

The switch did not happen as Paintsil disagreed with Genk over a loyalty bonus.

It has been suggested that it could be brought back to life however, with Paintsil now prepared to travel for a medical.

Moving to the Premier League with Burnley could be an attractive proposition for the attacker.

Paintsil, 25, has turned out eight times for Genk so far this season, scoring once and providing two assists.

NEWS NOW: Burnley has beaten Leeds to sign classic player from…..

Vincent Kompany now set to beat Leeds to signing of 22-year-old midfielder

Burnley are in ‘advanced’ talks over a move for Leeds United target Han-Noah Massengo.

That is according to L’Equipe, who report Burnley have made signing Massengo a priority in recent weeks and finally look set to seal his signing, with negotiations progressing well.

Massengo has been a free agent since leaving Bristol City at the end of June upon the end of his loan spell at French side Auxerre.

According to Phil Hay last month, Massengo is a player who has been of interest to Leeds this summer, though it appears they have never firmed that up into a concrete offer.

Now Premier League Burnley look as if they are about to pounce on the opportunity to sign him, as they continue to be busy in the market after promotion last season.

Burnley set to sign Leeds target Massengo

Leeds remain in the market for new midfielders before the end of Friday’s deadline and could bring in at least two, with it now very much Daniel Farke’s priority position.

Werder Bremen’s Ilia Gruev is the latest name to have been linked today, with Hay reporting a firm approach has been made by Leeds.

Celtic’s Matt O’Riley is also of interest to the Whites, while interest remains in Rangers’ Glen Kamara, which has undoubtedly been the strangest saga of the summer.

Leeds are in the market for a new number eight and 10, with Ethan Ampadu already having come in to fill the holding midfield position, which Massengo would’ve provided cover in.

There are now just over 48 hours for Leeds to complete any remaining business, of which there is expected to be plenty.
