West Ham United intend to sign Brazilian youngster Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha from Vasco da Gama ‘immediately’, but Newcastle United want him as well.

According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha is firmly on the radars of West Ham and Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

It is alleged that both the Hammers and the Magpies are willing to pay €22.7 million (£19 million) for the 16-year-old, before loaning him back to Vasco da Gama for two years until he turns 18.

David Moyes clearly has a penchant for Brazilians, having brought Lucas Paqueta and Luizao to the club over the past year.

And it seems as though another could be about to arrive in East London…

West Ham hope to pip Newcastle to ‘immediate’ signing of Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha

The Hammers are battling it out with the Toon to sign one of Brazil’s most exciting young players this summer.

TuttoMercatoWeb claim that both clubs have a plan to sign the teenager immediately before loaning him back to Vasco da Gama for two years. Let’s just hope that we manage to beat Newcastle to his signature.

Rayan is a right winger by trade and possesses blistering pace. Unsurprisingly for a Brazilian, he has unbelievable skill and technical ability as well.

He has bagged one goal already in seven senior appearances for Vasco (Transfermarkt).

The South American teenager is clearly an incredible young talent, and if West Ham manage to beat Newcastle to the signing of the Vasco da Gama starlet, it would be a major statement from Moyes and the board.

The 16-year-old is clearly a player for the future rather than the here and now. That doesn’t mean that signing him will be any less exciting though!
