Birmingham City have completed their 12th summer signing by agreeing to a deal with Leeds United.

BirminghamLive’s latest Birmingham City news includes a transfer deadline day agreement to sign Leeds United right-back Cody Drameh.

Birmingham City have beaten off interest from a number of Championship clubs to sign Leeds United loanee Cody Drameh.

Drameh becomes the Blues’ 12th acquisition of the summer, following the arrival of Austrian defender Emanuel Aiwu from Cremonese. Right-back Drameh, 21, will add to the defensive competition and compete with Ethan Laird for a starting spot.

This season, his chances at Leeds have been restricted, with Luke Ayling being the first choice right-back at Elland Road and Djed Spence recently joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. Blues were able to get Drameh thanks to the Spence deal.

During his time with Leeds, Drameh had two successful loan periods in the Championship. He helped Luton Town gain promotion through the play-offs last season and was named Cardiff City’s player of the year in 2021/22 despite only appearing in 22 games for the Bluebirds.

“He’s got experience of being promoted last season and he’s coming from a huge club in Leeds,” Blues manager John Eustace said. “He has something to prove, he’s hungry, and he’ll add some competition for spots.”

“I think Ethan, Manny (Longelo), Cody, and Lee (Buchanan) give us good cover in both full-back areas now.” He’ll be an integral member of the team.”
