NORWICH SET TO SIGN UI-JO HWANG ON LOAN FROM NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Norwich City are ready to conclude a loan transfer for Ui-jo Hwang (31) from Nottingham Forest, according to L’Équipe’s Loc Tanzi. The loan move for the South Korean to Norfolk will last only one season.

The former Bordeaux forward joined Nottingham in 2022 and was immediately loaned to Olympiacos, the club’s sister club. Les Girondins were obliged to sell the attacker due to financial troubles that resulted in their relegation to Ligue 2. After making 12 appearances on loan in Greece, the 31-year-old played the second part of last season with FC Seoul in his hometown. Ui-jo Hwang appeared in 18 K League games and scored four goals.

Following his arrival from Bordeaux, the South Korean international has yet to make a competitive first-team appearance for Nottingham, and that looks poised to continue for at least another season, with Ui-jo Hwang now set to join EFL Championship club Norwich City.

Norwich City Are Considering a Move For World Cup Striker

According to Talk Sport journalist Alex Crook, Norwich City are interested in signing AFC Bournemouth forward Kieffer Moore.

If the Cherries can find a replacement by the end of the day, the Welsh international might be on his way to the Championship. This season, the 31-year-old striker has made four appearances, none of which lasted more than 45 minutes. The seasoned forward has 100 career goals in 337 games for ten different clubs from the top to the bottom of the league structure.

What will Norwich receive?

Moore is a powerful forward who works hard and keeps opponents busy. He can score goals on the spur of the moment and has had good spells with Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic, when his knack for scoring shined through. He has also played at the highest level, having represented Wales in the World Cup in Qatar, including the group stage defeat to England. His experience and presence may be sufficient to help drive the Canaries this season.

How has the season so far gone?
Norwich City have had a near-perfect start to the Championship season, remaining unbeaten in their opening four games and accumulating ten points. They have also scored the most goals in the league (13) and advanced in the EFL Cup with victory against QPR and Bristol City.

Author’s Opinion

Moore would be a very solid acquisition to the Canaries, adding essential experience, a presence up front, and the odd goal. He has already done well in the Championship and may be searching for a place to call home as he nears the end of his career. Norwich have already begun well, and the addition of talent to the squad can only help them as they strive to reclaim their place in the Premier League.
