Imps loan out Blackburn Rovers forward
The Imps secured the signing of striker Jack Vale this evening, who arrives on a season-long loan from Championship club Blackburn Rovers.
This news can be discussed on the topic HERE.
The 22-year-old made his professional debut for Rovers in 2020 and has since played 25 times for the Lancashire club in all competitions.
Vale also comes to the club with international experience, having represented Wales at the U17, U19, and U21 levels.
“We are absolutely delighted to have secured a player of Jack’s calibre at the end of the transfer window,” said Jez George.
“We will have to be patient while Jack recovers from a hamstring injury, but we are signing him for the entire season, not just September.”
“We know we have a really good player who will add to our squad and increase competition for positions at the top of the pitch.”
The move is contingent on EFL permission.
Discussion on the forum:
sedgleyimp: “Wikipedia lists him as a 6ft 1in striker.” Blackburn played 18 League games with no goals, however the majority of those came from the bench. Had loan spells at Rochdale and Halifax, scoring once for the latter. Wales U21 has a higher strike rate, with three goals in six games.
If I’m being completely honest, he appears to be a cover signing for me, but we’ll see how he goes.”
“1 goal in about 30 overall league game involvements and the odd goal in some of the other cup comps,” Impish says. There must be something there to catch JG and co’s notice and merit a season loan here, so it will be intriguing to see what Jack has to give when he isn’t injured!”
