update from the wounded Villa ace, who faces a long road to rehabilitation.

Emiliano Buendia, the Aston Villa midfielder, has provided an update on his recuperation from a serious knee injury suffered last month.
The 26-year-old suffered the very disappointing setback on the eve of the Premier League season, which was a significant blow for us given how prominent and crucial he has been since Unai Emery took over in November.

Buendia would surely have played a key part this year as we aim to compete on numerous fronts and for prizes, as he was an almost constant fixture in the Villa XI under the Spaniard, and having impressed in pre-season.

With Tyrone Mings sustaining a similar major knee injury just days later, it must have been a difficult period for the Villa squad to deal with and reorganize, but hearing from the players in question is always a boost.

Buendia published a photo of his knee on his Instagram account, as shown in the image below.

That will be critical in the coming months, since he is projected to miss the most, if not all, of the current campaign, so he must stay close to the rest of the squad and remain optimistic about his recovery.

Buendia, who previously stated on Instagram stories that he was at our recent win against Everton, will ideally continue to make significant development and possibly feature before the season is up.

Similarly, having Mings active towards the end of the campaign would be a huge boost, but for now, we continue to wish them both a healthy and swift recovery from their individual injuries, and perhaps they’ll be vital for each other during this time.
