It was very intense’: 26-year-old Wolves might have signed reacts to not getting a transfer

Wolves signed Santiago Bueno, but the club was highly associated with Nico Elvedi before the Uruguayan, and the defender has now opened up about the last few weeks.

In a deal valued roughly £8.5 million, Wanderers swooped to sign Bueno from Girona.

The club has high expectations for the 24-year-old, whom Matt Hobbs describes as a “perfect fit.”

It will be intriguing to watch how he performs, especially given that Wolves might have signed Elvedi instead.

Wolves were rumored to be quite interested. However, it appears that the team could not afford him.

This was before to Manchester City’s interest in Matheus Nunes, who was eventually transferred for £53 million.

Elvedi has now stated that he will not be leaving Borussia Monchengladbach this summer…

Elvedi has decided to remain at Gladbach.

Everton also expressed an interest in him after Wolves.

And now, the 26-year-old has opened up about his experiences in recent weeks.

According to Blick, he remarked in an interview: “Although my advisor kept a lot of things from me and only informed me about the most important things, it was very intense.”

“It wasn’t easy, especially since I couldn’t play.”

“I feel very at ease here; Gladbach is like a second home to me.”

Elvedi’s deal with the German club will expire next summer.

Time will tell whether Bueno was the right pick for Wolves following the Elvedi links.
In the end, Wolves could have afforded Elvedi, but they chose Bueno.

And now we’ll find out how wise it was to go with the Uruguayan.

Elvedi most likely had a better pedigree. He has more experience and was the top passer in the Bundesliga last season.

In addition, he has 47 caps for Switzerland to Bueno’s two for Uruguay.

Hopefully, Wolves’ decision to sign the South American over Elvedi will be vindicated.
