Your Coventry City questions answered: signings, free agents, and a run on the horizon
Sky Blues reporter Andy Turner discusses some of the main questions following the club’s first five games in Coventry City news from CoventryLive.

Coventry City earned six points from their first five Championship games and are now obliged to take a break for the international break.

The new-look Sky Blues have had an interesting start to the 2023/24 season, with 11 new summer recruits getting to know one other on and off the pitch and attempting to bed in and gel. There have been plenty of encouraging indicators, as well as one or two kinks that Mark Robins and his coaching team will be eager to smooth out in the coming days, weeks, and months.

City are 14th, four points outside the top six where they finished last season, despite a difficult start in which they made huge ground from the bottom of the table.

So it’s six points from five games so far and obviously not quite the return they wanted but how far away are they from a team that has three or four wins in a row that ignites a season?

AT: Well it’s certainly not panic stations yet. I don’t think they’re that far off that at the minute, to be honest. You can go through every game so far, starting with Leicester away, which they really could have won and, to be honest, should have won, if not come away with at least a point.

If Haji Wright’s brilliant attempt gone in it would have almost been game over. But it was a really encouraging performance against Leicester who are expected to go straight back up. City competed every step of the way and deserved a draw, minimum, really from that game which is their only defeat.
