Fulham have opened fresh contract negotiations with Harrison Reed following late Everton and Wolves transfer interest.
According to the Evening Standard, Fulham have begun contract negotiations with Harrison Reed after late summer transfer interest from Everton and Wolves.

The Toffees requested for the terms of a deal for the Fulham midfielder on deadline day because they were in talks to move Alex Iwobi to the London club, but the transfer never happened.

However, after rejecting a bid from Wolves, the club has now begun discussions to tie Reed down to a new contract beyond his present one, which is worth roughly £30k per week and runs until 2024 with an option for another year.

Fulham open Harrison Reed contract talks after Wolves transfer bid rejected

“Fulham are in contract talks with midfielder Harrison Reed,” they stated.

“Reed, 28, was open to moving to Molineux but would prefer to stay at Craven Cottage if he was offered better terms.”

“The £6 million signing from Southampton, who is also being pursued by Everton, is still on the same £30,000-a-week contract he signed after joining permanently in summer 2020 after a productive loan spell in west London.”

“That contract expires in 2024, with Fulham having the option to automatically extend it by another year.”

Shame

This is a position to keep an eye on since Reed is a Sean Dyche-type midfielder with a lot of energy, a strong desire to win the ball back, and good skill on the ball.

Everton are now one man short of options in central midfield as a result of losing Alex Iwobi on transfer deadline day against the manager’s preferences, and this deal may be reopened.

After selling Iwobi for $22 million, Tom Cannon for £7.5 million, and most recently, Demarai Gray to Saudi Arabia for £8 million, the club should have some cash to spend in January.

If Reed doesn’t sign a new contract by then, it might be the ideal time for him to leave and Fulham to make a profit, allowing Everton to complete a transaction.
