TOTTENHAM PLAYER ANGE POSTECOGLOU SAYS HE HAS LEARNED HIS LESSON
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has lauded Yves Bissouma’s training style.

Ange Postecoglou told talkSPORT (11:44am, September 12, 2023) that Tottenham Hotspur and Mali international defensive midfielder Yves Bissouma impressed him in training when he first arrived at Spurs.
After departing Scottish Premiership champions Celtic, Postecoglou was appointed Tottenham manager in the summer of 2023.

And he has remarked on how well the 27-year-old has performed in training.

Bissouma was also late for training one day, according to Postecoglou, but he has not made the same error since.

Bissouma has made four Premier League appearances for Tottenham this season.

“Biss was here from the first day,” Postecoglou said of Bissouma.

“I kind of grabbed him and told him, ‘You can be a leader in this group based on the way he was training, the first three or four sessions with the younger guys.'”I was already aware of his talent, but not the manner in which he was training.

“When he was late the next morning, I told him, ‘Being a leader means being on time.'”

“And he’s been great since then.” So there are always lessons to be learned.”

Yves Bissouma is currently doing admirably for Tottenham Hotspur under manager Ange Postecoglou.

Last season, Bissouma failed to find regular playing time for Spurs under then-manager Antonio Conte.

There were also injury concerns.

Bissouma joined Tottenham in the summer of 2022 from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.

Last season, the Tottenham defensive midfielder made 10 starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League.

Last season, the Mali international defensive midfielder appeared three times as a substitute for the North London team in the UEFA Champions League.

Bissouma and Spurs are both doing well at the moment.

It will be intriguing to see if the defensive midfielder can continue to produce at his present high level in the next weeks and months.

This season, Tottenham’s main goal is to finish in the top four of the Premier League table.
