Leeds United teenager ‘attracting interest’ from Manchester United and Manchester City

Manchester United and Manchester City are both interested in a Leeds United teenager.

According to a source, Manchester United are interested in 14-year-old Leeds United winger Finley Gorman, who is also being pursued by treble winners Manchester City.

This season, the player has appeared for the club’s Under-16s and Under-18s sides as an England youth international.

According to the Daily Mail, Man United, the Whites’ old rivals, are ‘looking at’ the youngster, who is also getting interest from across Manchester at the Etihad Stadium.

The Whites Under-18s lead the Under-18s Premier League North table after two wins in their first two games. They have a goal differential advantage over the Red Devils.

Last month, they defeated Stoke City 6-1, with Gorman coming off the bench at halftime to produce one assist and score two goals in an amazing performance. They also defeated Liverpool 4-1, but Gorman did not play.

With players like Archie Gray breaking into the Leeds first team at a young age, Gorman has a clear road to senior football at the club. Charlie Cresswell, Crysencio Summerville, Pascal Struijk, and Jamie Shackleton all came via the club’s academy system.

Kalvin Phillips, who joined Manchester City in a transfer worth an estimated £42 million just over a year ago, is one of the club’s most successful academy graduates in recent years.

Man City have one of the most impressive academies in Europe, but have recently sold a number of their young players due to limited first-team opportunities. In the recent 18 months, players such as Romeo Lavia, Shea Charles, and Cole Palmer have all departed the club for large transfer sums.

Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, Kobbie Mainoo was the most recent academy graduate to make his debut, appearing against Charlton Athletic in January. Alejandro Garnacho is one of the club’s more prominent academy players who has made his way into the main squad in recent seasons.

Leeds United’s senior team returns to Championship action this weekend, traveling to Millwall in search of their second victory of the season after starting the season with one win, three draws, and one defeat.
