Daniel Farke of Leeds has been injured ahead of the match against Millwall.

Farke has had a run of bad luck as he prepares his team to face Millwall.

According to sources, Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has had a difficult start to his tenure at Elland Road and may have been handed another blow due to injury ahead of their trip to face Millwall.

What is the most recent Leeds United news?

In a surprising twist, Football Insider has revealed that Leeds United are willing to start negotiations about a new contract for forward Wilfried Gnonto, who has previously been linked with a move away from Elland Road.

Everton were great admirers of the Italy international during the summer window, but they were unable to reach an agreement with Leeds United on a deal for the former FC Zurich player. Following a summer of uncertainty around his probable next career steps, Gnonto is currently reported to be focused on achieving promotion back to the Premier League with Leeds United.

Former Leeds United player David Prutton has thrown down the gauntlet to the Whites ahead of this Sunday’s powderkeg clash with Millwall at The Den, saying on the Sky Sports Championship Predictions Podcast: “Leeds, all the faffing about with players, all the consignment about who’s there and who’s not, who wants to stay there and who’s moved on, all these ridiculous statements coming out from players that have moved on.” The time has come for those who have been left to take their fingers out.

“It’ll be tough, a very tough one against a Millwall side that, as we’ve seen, has plenty of fight in them because of how Gary Rowett leads them.”

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Leeds United could yet enter the free agent market for another left-back reinforcement if the proper opportunity arises at Elland Road.

Who is in doubt for this weekend’s match against Millwall?

The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has provided remarks from Leeds United manager Farke on the runners and riders that will compete against Millwall on Sunday, as well as others who may be unable to compete, via social networking platform X: “On Injuries, Farke: Bamford is still out and will miss the next three games. Firpo is also out this weekend due to a hip injury. Spence is dealing with a knee condition. Cooper, Byram, and James are back in the gym. Farke believes Dallas is making significant progress.”

Most of these issues were already well known, but Djed Spence, who only arrived at Elland Road on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, has only made one cameo appearance for Leeds United in their 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, according to Transfermarkt, and now appears to be on the sidelines.

According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, Farke has fully disclosed the background to Spence’s injury concerns, saying: “There is a question mark about Djed Spence.” First, he missed some sessions due to personal reasons, and then, during training yesterday (Thursday), he injured his lateral ligament. We must wait for additional evaluation. Because it was not able to workout today (Friday), I would consider it a huge doubt for the weekend.”

Despite the fact that Spence may miss the trip to London, Leeds United fans should take consolation in the fact that some of their first-team players are making good progress toward re-entry.
