Daniel Ogwuru has joined Norwich City from Manchester City.

Norwich City have signed promising forward Daniel Ogwuru from Premier League club Manchester City.

The 18-year-old has signed a long-term contract with Carrow Road and will initially play for the club’s youth teams.

Ogwuru began his career at Bolton Wanderers before joining Manchester City at the age of 14.

He progressed through the City youth system and was a member of the Under-18 Premier League winning team in 2021/22.

The attacker then advanced to the Under-21s, where he played in the UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2.

“It feels great to sign for the club,” Ogwuru remarked after joining Norwich City. When the concept was presented to me, I thought it was a fantastic opportunity.

“The facilities here at the Lotus Training Centre are incredible; it truly appears to be a place where I can grow.”

“At Manchester City, you learn a lot of football education, and you understand the game better.”

Speaking of his role models with the Sky Blues, the youngster said his good friend Rico Lewis was his inspiration. “I was playing with him a year ago and in six months he’s just shot up into the first team.

“It shows that if you are patient and you wait and work hard, your time will come. That’s got to be me now.

“I think I’ll be able to bring that here and implement that into my games with the Under-21s.”

On his own achievements and goals with the club, Ogwuru said: “I want to get a good run of games in.

“If we can get into the league knock-outs that would be a great achievement and I’d like to hopefully get a few training sessions in with the first team.”
