The Essex club currently play in the National League South, where they’re 15th in the sixth-tier table after nine games.

Watt joined City from Oxford United in July 2022, having also been part of the academy setups at Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

He made 21 appearances for Alan Neilson’s under-21s last season, scoring once and making three assists, as well as playing five times for the Canaries’ under-18s.

The 20-year-old made his debut nearly two weeks ago in a 1-1 draw with Farnborough, playing 30 minutes as a substitute.

Speaking of the move, Watt told official Braintree channels: “It’s an amazing club. I decided to come here and try to bring something different to the team.

“They’ve made me feel welcome coming in, so I’m very happy to be here. First-team football is the goal, so I’m going to be working hard to get myself a career in the game.”
