Rest in Peace, Mark Ledsom

The Club regrets to inform you of the untimely and unfortunate death of our colleague, friend, and Hatters supporter Mark Ledsom.

Mark is a professionally trained broadcaster and journalist with over 20 years of experience in media, journalism, and communications. He has worked for major broadcasters such as Sky Sports, BBC, and Thomson Reuters.

He has worked in corporate communications since 2008, first at FIFA, the world football regulatory body, where he launched and edited their new monthly four-language magazine. In 2014, he returned to the UK to lead communications at Transport Systems Catapult, a newly formed government-backed technology and innovation center.

His influence could be seen during the Hatters’ rise from non-league to Premier League, as he provided regular PR advice and guidance to the Club on a consultancy basis before committing to his dream job by joining Luton Town’s media team this summer as the Club recruited new talent in preparation for the Premier League.

Mark’s enthusiasm for his job, the Club, and the community left an indelible impression on colleagues who instantly bonded to him. He was honored to make his Luton Town press box debut against Brighton in the club’s maiden Premier League encounter.

Mark died just one day after his 50th birthday, less than a month after being diagnosed with cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Louise, and three children, Max, Kurt, and Anya, and the Club’s love and thoughts are with them all, as well as his extended family, especially his sister Jane, who is well-known within the Hatters fan base.

Mark, please rest in peace.
