Pundit speculates on whether ex-Sheffield United, Leeds United, and QPR manager Neil Warnock will return to management.

Neil Warnock has left Huddersfield Town, and Darren Moore has taken his place.
Warnock led Huddersfield Town to Championship survival last season, another great success for the veteran manager.

And, as always, it’s unclear whether he’ll return to the game. He appeared to have retired before taking on the Terriers job, and on the most recent episode of the EFL Podcast, expert Gary Weaver thinks that Warnock will return.

Weaver claims to be Warnock’s close ally, and on his recent departure from Huddersfield Town, Weaver stated of Warnock:

“It’s piqued his interest, hasn’t it?” He will return.”

Warnock, who was born in Sheffield, has been in management for over 40 years. He’s managed a slew of Championship clubs, including Cardiff City, Plymouth Argyle, QPR, Rotherham United, Leeds United, Middlesbrough, and, of course, Huddersfield.

However, Warnock is also well-known for his time at Crystal Palace and, in especially, Sheffield United.

Warnock, one last dance?

Huddersfield Town appeared to be Warnock’s final dance.

But we never know what Warnock’s last job will be. And, despite being 74 years old, he continues to demonstrate that he can perform admirably in the Championship.

Many had written Huddersfield off last season, but he did an excellent job of keeping them up, and with the October international break approaching, we could see a few roles come up, particularly near the bottom of the Championship table.

When employment opportunities become available, Warnock might be the top name on many bookmakers’ lists, yet what Warnock could want in his next challenge remains to be seen.

But everyone would love to see the legendary manager return to the game.
