Spurs: Levy could make “concrete” move to sign “game-changer”

The player is currently a mainstay for his club.

According to rumours, Tottenham Hotspur and, by extension, chairman Daniel Levy, may make a “concrete” move to recruit a “game-changer” player.

Who has the Spurs signed for 2023?

Spurs have started the Premier League season very well, thanks to the summer signings of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, young centre-back Ashley Phillips, dependable defender Micky van de Ven, England midfielder James Maddison, winger Manor Solomon, exciting striker Alejo Veliz, and Wales forward Brennan Johnson.

With four wins from their first four league games and an astonishing 15 goals, new manager Ange Postecoglou’s vibrant, attack-minded approach is on full show for all to observe. Tottenham’s most recent match saw them earn a 2-2 draw away at north London rivals and championship contenders Arsenal.

A brace from skipper Son Heung-min helped them come back from a goal down twice, with Postecoglou praising his young team’s tenacity and drive.

“They’ve come through that, going toe to toe with a top side,” Postecoglou explained. “There’s a genuine desire to become the team we want to be, which includes being disciplined and buying into the team ethos, and we had a very young team out there.” Vic was playing in his first derby, Destiny, van de Ven, Pape Matar Sarr, Brennan, they’re all in their early twenties, Porro, even Kulusevski is only 23, so it was a youthful team, but I’m happy of the seasoned guys we did have in there.

“Romero was outstanding, Bissouma has been brilliant all year, Maddison, and Sonny was just on a different level, not just his goals, although they were outstanding, but his work rate, his work ethic was incredible.”

Tottenham Hotspur visit Liverpool on Saturday afternoon at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and while Jurgen Klopp’s side is on a similar run of success, maintaining unbeaten, Postecoglou’s side will be in high spirits.

What is the most recent Tottenham Hotspur transfer news?

Despite Tottenham’s good run on the field, there may be questions about their depth if any of their important players, such as Maddison, get hurt. Stars from last season, such as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Eric Dier, are expected to leave in January after becoming fringe players of Postecoglou’s new-look Tottenham side.

As a result, the Lilywhites are rumoured to be looking for centre-backs and midfielders in January, with CaughtOffside offering an update regarding Chelsea star Conor Gallagher. They suggest Tottenham and Levy are considering a “concrete” move for the Englishman if Hojbjerg leaves.

Nothing else is said beyond that, but Gallagher has become a mainstay under Mauricio Pochettino so far this season; starting all six of their league games while also ranking as their second-best performer according to WhoScored.

Former Spurs star, once speaking to Match of the Day (via The Sun), has expressed his admiration for the 23-year-old saying:

“I think he is a game-changer aswell Conor Gallagher. He’s the type of player that you bring on and he has an impact on the game. He presses, gets himself in the box and creates chances.”
