Forest Green Rovers have signed goalkeeper James Belshaw on an emergency loan from Bristol Rovers.

The 32-year-old, who joined the Gas from Harrogate Town in 2021, has joined the League Two club for a seven-day trial.

He made 42 appearances in all competitions last season but has since lost his starting spot at the Memorial Ground.

Charlton Athletic have loaned out youngster Matt Dench to non-league Billericay Town in order to further his development.

For a month, the 19-year-old has joined the Isthmian League Premier Division club. He’ll be trying to put in a lot of playing time over the next four weeks.

The ex-Aston Villa and Tranmere Rovers player’s contract expires in June, and his long-term future at The Valley is uncertain at the moment.
