TIERNEY, LEICESTER CITY MIDFIELDER, SIGNES NEW DEAL

Sam Tierney, a Leicester City midfielder, has signed a two-year contract extension with the Barclays Women’s Super League team.
The Foxes informed WSL Full-Time of the news this afternoon via an official club press release.

Tierney joined Leicester City in 2020 and won the Barclays Women’s Championship in her first season there. Since then, the midfielder has been a key player for Leicester City in the Premier League.

The player appears certain to be a regular starter for The Foxes again this season, and the club has sought to secure her long-term services.

Tierney remarked after signing her contract extension, “I am delighted to have signed a new contract with the club.” I’ve been with Leicester for a short while now, and I’m thrilled to be staying.

“I feel like I have more areas of my game that I want to improve, and I am excited to help the team in the new season.” The Club’s and the coaching staff’s aims match mine, and I’m looking forward to the season ahead.”

Tierney played the entire 90 minutes for Leicester City in their 4-2 triumph over Bristol City at Ashton Gate yesterday.
