Sign Makur RaptorsMaker To Exhibit 10-Year Contract

According to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca (Twitter link), the Raptors have signed free agent center Makur Maker to an Exhibit 10 deal. The transaction was finalized on Saturday.

Makur Maker, the cousin of former NBA big man and lottery pick Thon Maker, played for the Sydney Kings in Australia’s National Basketball League in 2021/22 before going undrafted in 2022. He played for the Capital City Go-Go, the Wizards’ G League club, last season.

Maker, who turns 23 in November, averaged 6.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in 44 regular-season and Showcase Cup games with the Go-Go last season. His return rights were traded to the Raptors 905 last month.

As Murphy points out, Toronto signed Maker with the intention of having him play for the club’s G League affiliate. Maker’s Exhibit 10 agreement states that if he is waived by the Raptors and subsequently spends at least 60 days with the Raptors 905, he will get a bonus of up to $75,000.

Toronto now has a full training camp roster of 21 players.
