David Moyes reveals that two West Ham defenders will miss the match against Freiburg owing to hamstring and groin ailments.

West Ham boss David Moyes will be without two defenders for tonight’s match against Freiburg.

David Moyes has led his West Ham players to Freiburg, Germany, for the second Europa League match in Group A.

The Hammers kicked off our European season with a 3-1 victory over Backa Topola at the London Stadium two weeks ago.

There’s no doubt that Freiburg will be a completely different test for us tonight.

The Bundesliga team is no pushover, and tonight’s game will be the most difficult test we’ve faced in Europe since our visit to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022.

Moyes will be without Michail Antonio for tonight’s encounter, but the Scot is dealing with more injuries than just the striker…

David Moyes is dealing with injury concerns for Freiburg’s match against West Ham.

Last night, the Scot addressed the media, stating that Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson both have problematic injuries.

“Aaron Cresswell is still recovering from his hamstring injury and Ben Johnson has a little bit of a tight groin as well.”

That will provide some difficulties for Moyes.

With both Cresswell and Johnson out, the Scot will be obliged to start Emerson Palmieri at left back.

That’s not ideal with a big game against Newcastle coming up in three days. We can only pray that the Italian does not sustain any injuries tonight.

Tonight’s game between Freiburg and West Ham should be a real treat. It will be a true test for the Hammers and will provide us with an accurate picture of where we stand right now.
