Fred VanVleet is expected to play in the Raptors’ game against the Bulls.

The Toronto Raptors will welcome back Fred VanVleet on Tuesday night when they face the Chicago Bulls.

The Toronto Raptors’ Fred VanVleet is healthy and ready to play against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET at Scotiabank Arena.

The 29-year-old point guard had missed three straight games due to personal circumstances, including the arrival of his third kid.

VanVleet will now take over as Toronto’s starting guard, possibly displacing Gary Trent Jr., who will likely be demoted to the bench. The Raptors should have a fully healthy rotation for the first time since acquiring Jakob Poeltl at the trade deadline. The Raptors’ only player out with an injury is Otto Porter Jr.

Trent, Precious Achiuwa, and Chris Boucher are likely to be Toronto’s first three players off the bench. With VanVleet out, Jeff Dowtin Jr. saw limited playing time, but he’ll likely return to the bench.

Toronto begins a crucial three-game run on Tuesday night against Chicago, followed by two games against the Washington Wizards. In the East, only one and a half games separate the ninth-seeded Raptors and the 11th-seeded Bulls.
