Brisbane Broncos share an update on Adam Reynolds’ injuries.

Adam Reynolds was stretchered off during the first half of Brisbane’s game against Melbourne at AAMI Park, which the Broncos lost 24-16.

Kevin Walters’ men have now lost 13 consecutive games against the Storm, but the health and well-being of their talismanic halfback will be of greater concern.

Adam Reynolds has been injured.
During a furious scramble involving Herbie Farnworth and Harry Grant, Reynolds wounded himself by smashing into the turf while attempting to ground the ball in the in-goal area.

The Broncos were awarded a questionable try to Farnworth after the halfback faceplanted into the pitch and remained down while the play was sent up to the Bunker for review.

Despite the disturbing scenes, Brisbane’s medical staff attended to Reynolds while he lay lifeless on the ground before he was stretchered away.

“There was some real concern about Adam Reynolds when his head hit the ground – he felt some nerves in his neck twinge,” Lara Pitt of Fox League said from the sidelines.

“He has been cleared of a serious neck injury, but he will not be returning for this match-up.”

At halftime, footage from inside the sheds showed Reynolds sitting and talking with Kotoni Staggs before Kurt Capewell led the side out for the second half in his absence.

Despite another loss to Melbourne, the skipper watched from the sidelines as his teammates demonstrated their premiership credentials against all odds.

When asked about the veteran’s condition, Walters described Reynolds, who was not present at the post-match press conference, as “not good.”

“He’s been our leader and playing some good footy for us, so that’s what I’m proud of with these guys,” he said.

When pressed for more information about Reynolds, the coach stated that the No.7 was still sleepy and suffering from a shoulder issue.

“We’ll have to wait and get him back to Brisbane and see how he is,” he said.

“I wouldn’t have expected him to play next week, but it’s still early days.”

“We’ll give him some rest and bring him back when he’s fit and healthy.”

“He fell awkwardly tonight and face-planted, but hopefully he’ll be okay in a short period.”

The Broncos have offered the most recent update on Reynolds’ condition, with the club’s Head of Performance, Dave Ballard, stating he averted catastrophic neck injury.

“Reyno has been cleared of any neck issues and will be monitored over the next few days as part of a concussion protocol,” the team said.

“He received a Category 2 rating during the game, and we will be guided by his progress through the concussion protocol in coming days to determine his return to play.”
