David Montgomery will’miss some time’ due to a rib injury, according to reports.
Running back David Montgomery of the Lions exited the Buccaneers game early.
The Detroit Lions are expected to be without running back David Montgomery for the foreseeable future due to a rib ailment.
“Another hit for the Lions, though nothing has slowed them yet,” according to the Free Press. “It appears that Lions running back David Montgomery will miss some time due to a rib injury suffered yesterday.”
Detroit went to Craig Reynolds and Devine Ozigbo after the veteran running back departed the game.
Zonovan Knight was placed on the injured reserve list prior to the game after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
Through the first six games of the season, Detroit has been fortunate to avoid the injury bug.
“We know and they understand that if you want to be a good team in this league, you have to win on the road.” “I think they really look forward to it,” Dan Campbell remarked. “There’s something about playing on the road that they enjoy. And the fans who go with us, I feel like there are more and more every time.”
As injuries have damaged both sides of the football, Detroit has relied on multiple players who have been able to come in and play at a high level.
“Everybody’s got a hand in this, they know that,” Campbell told reporters. “There is no insignificant player on this team.” If you’re in the game, you’re helping us; you just don’t know how much it’ll be.”
While the Lions’ roster depth has increased, the return of guys like first-round draft selection Jahmyr Gibbs will help the running game.
Gibbs has been out with a hamstring injury for the past few weeks.
