Fa’amanu Brown, a new recruit for Hull City, made an impression on his New Zealand debut.

Brown contributed to the Kiwis’ thrashing of Samoa.

After New Zealand beat Samoa, new H ull FC signing Fa’amanu Brown had a debut to remember. Brown, who has signed a one-year contract with the Kiwis, came off the bench as the Black and Whites defeated last year’s World Cup finalists 50-0.

Brown played 22 minutes and assisted on a try, producing a great crash ball that allowed Briton Nikorima to crash over from close range. He finished the game with three dummy half runs, one interception, and nine tackles, missing only one. He could be back in play next week when the Kiwis face world champions Australia in the Pacific Championships. Last week, the Kangaroos trounced Samoa 38-12.

Brown played hooker for New Zealand but will be faced with playing halfback at MKM Stadium next season. Due to his international commitments, he will most likely be the final player to report to the club ahead of the 2024 season, resulting in a lengthy absence.

The majority of the players will return to training on November 6th, the official start date of their pre-season. The new overseas players Herman Ese’ese, Jayden Okunbor, and Franklin Pele will not arrive until December due to visa and contract rules, but they will be given personal training routines so they are ready to hit the ground running.
