Brown contributed to New Zealand’s thrashing of Samoa.

New H ull FC signing Fa’amanu Brown had a debut to remember after New Zealand thrashed Samoa. Brown, who has signed a one-year deal with the Black and Whites, came off the bench as the Kiwis destroyed last year’s World Cup finalists 50-0.

Brown played 22 minutes during the contest and bagged a try assist, producing a nice crash ball that allowed Briton Nikorima to crash over from short range. He ended the game have made three runs from dummy half, one intercept and nine tackles, missing just one. He could be back in action again next week as the Kiwis take on world champions, Australia, in the next round of the Pacific Championships. The Kangaroos defeated Samoa 38-12 last week.

Brown played at hooker for New Zealand but will be tasked with playing at halfback next season at the MKM Stadium. He is likely to be the last player to report to the club ahead of the 2024 season due to his international commitments, which will result in him being given a prolonged period of absence.

The majority of players will be back in training on November 6th, which is the official start day for their pre-season. Due to visa and contract regulations, the new overseas players Herman Ese’ese, Jayden Okunbor and Franklin Pele will not arrive until December but will be given personal training regimes so they arrive ready to hit the ground running.
