Chandler Zavala of the Panthers was released from the hospital after suffering a neck injury against the Lions.

The Carolina Panthers reported Sunday that offensive guard Chandler Zavala has been released from the hospital after suffering a neck injury during Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

After being carted off the field with a neck injury, Zavala was taken to a hospital for precautionary evaluation.

Midway through the first quarter, the game came to a halt while Zavala underwent treatment. On his way to the tunnel, he gave the audience a thumbs up.

The 24-year-old began his collegiate career at Fairmont State, a Division II school. He transferred to North Carolina State in 2021 and was named to the ACC’s first team as a senior in 2022.

In Bleacher Report’s final big board for the 2023 draft, Zavala was ranked 83rd overall and ninth among guards.

Zavala was chosen by Carolina in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He started all four games for the team and didn’t miss a single offensive action.
