The latest report on Taylor Hall’s injury is encouraging for the Bruins as they prepare for the playoffs.

The Boston Bruins discovered just before the March 3 NHL trade deadline that left wingers Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno would be gone for a time.

We still don’t know when Foligno will be able to return to the Bruins lineup, but the recent news on Hall’s health is highly positive for the team.

According to Kevin Paul Dupont of The Boston Globe, Hall “is expected to begin practicing on Monday and likely will return to action following the conclusion of the club’s upcoming five-game road trip, which begins Sunday afternoon in Detroit.”

The most recent NHL playoff scenarios, standings, and first-round matches for the Boston Bruins Hall is presently on long-term injured reserve (LTIR) and has missed the last five games. His most recent appearance came on Feb. 25 against the Vancouver Canucks, when he suffered his lower body injury.

According to LTIR rules, players must miss at least 10 games and 24 days. Based on that timeline, and if all goes well with Hall, he could return during the Bruins’ three-game homestand against the Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, and Tampa Bay Lightning from March 21 to March 25.

On March 2, the Boston Bruins acquired Tyler Bertuzzi from the Detroit Red Wings to enhance their talent and depth at left wing. With Brad Marchand, Pavel Zacha, Hall, and Todd Bertuzzi all in the mix, the B’s will have incredible depth at left wing if Hall returns soon and makes a seamless transition back to the lineup.
