Despite Fabrizio Romano’s arrival, Rangers have yet to offer a new contract to Ross McCausland.
According to Belfast Live, English clubs are interested in recruiting Rangers prodigy Ross McCausland in a six-figure deal, but no new contract has been offered.
According to their official website (23 October), Philippe Clement is a huge fan of the winger, but despite rumors from Fabrizio Romano, no new contract has been offered to him at Ibrox.
With his current contract scheduled to expire in the summer, clubs are already circling for a January trade, with Rangers valuing him around £300,000.
“Rangers winger Ross McCausland continues to attract interest from clubs in England as speculation mounts over his future,” they said in a statement.
“The 20-year-old, who is valued at around £300,000, is out of contract next summer and is attracting interest from English clubs.”
“He is highly-rated by Clement who sees the winger as part of his long-term plans at Ibrox, but it is understood no new deal has been offered yet.”
McCausland certainly made an impression on the new management team, with reports that the club was about to offer him a new contract.
However, this story says that a deal has not yet been presented, and the fact that the player has already been valued suggests that they are not entirely opposed to moving him on in January.
It would certainly be the club’s last chance to make money on him if he isn’t going to sign a new contract, and if there is interest, it would make sense to at least keep an eye on it.
However, if he continues to impress Clement between now and January, he will undoubtedly find himself firmly in his plans, with a new contract on the table to demonstrate that he is appreciated.
It’s one to keep an eye on in the future, especially if the injuries continue and he gets chances to shine with the first squad.
