The Lions send a strong statement regarding potential trades.

“it also can’t be something that’s going to mess with what we got going on here.”

The Detroit Lions are one of the league’s apparent contenders right now, leading the NFC North division with a 5-2 record through seven games. But just because they’re in contention doesn’t mean they’ll rush to make any high-profile transactions before the NFL trade deadline next week.

During a press conference this week, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell stated that while the team will consider making a trade that would benefit the team for the right price, they don’t want to force anything because they don’t want to disrupt what has been working for the team this season.

“First and foremost, the value has to be right,” Campbell stated, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “It has to be something that we feel can help us, that fits us.” But it also can’t be anything that will disrupt what we’re doing here.

“[GM Brad Holmes] is aware of that, and I appreciate that about him, that he understands what I’m saying and what we’re about.” And we’re not going to interfere with this team’s attitude.”

The Lions appear to be willing to make a move, but they are also completely pleased with what they have.
