NBA executive claims the Miami Heat are considering Alex Caruso: “They are in desperate need of security.”

The Miami Heat have won their last five games to make up for their poor start to the 2023–24 regular season (1-4).

However, an executive from the Eastern Conference feels that the team is in dire need of a guard and is considering a trade for Chicago Bulls defensive star Alex Caruso.

The executive from the Eastern Conference told Heavy Sports, “They need a guard in the worst way.” “That is not how they operate; they are not out there beating the bushes for a trade or anything like that. They will claim to like Dru Smith and Josh Richardson, among other things. However, they must be worried, and they would have to be first in line if the Bulls made it known that Alex Caruso could be traded. He really is an Erik Spoelstra type of guy. They are definitely keeping an eye on him. All of us do.

Caruso has a long history of being regarded as one of the NBA’s best perimeter defenders. He spent the first four seasons of his professional career with the venerable Los Angeles Lakers team before joining the Bulls for his third season.

Earlier this month, an unidentified NBA executive made speculative suggestions that the Lakers might try to reunite with Caruso in Los Angeles.

Caruso is averaging 7.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.6 steals per game in his nine games with the Bulls this season. He is also shooting 59.1 percent from the field, 44.0 percent from behind the 3-point arc, and 63.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Caruso is a unique kind of player in that his contributions on both ends of the court go beyond the stat sheet, even though his numbers don’t always jump off the page.

The only other team in the Eastern Conference with a longer winning streak than the Heat at the moment is the Philadelphia 76ers, who have won eight straight games. Miami has defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Washington Wizards, and San Antonio Spurs in five of its previous encounters.

In their most recent match, the Heat defeated the Spurs by a score of five points on Sunday. Duncan Robinson shot 8 of 16 from the field and 4 of 7 from beyond the 3-point arc to score 26 points. Additionally, Jimmy Butler scored 19 points, and big man Bam Adebayo contributed 24 points.

With 20 points and eight of his eighteen field goals, Keldon Johnson led the Spurs.

If the Bulls allow Caruso to be traded between now and the trade deadline, Miami should seize the chance to acquire him.

Caruso, after all, has shown himself to be a successful player who contributes to his team in a variety of ways on the court.
