During the Heat-Spurs game, Miami Heat supporters are still celebrating Duncan Robinson’s cooking of Victor Wembanyama.

In the Miami Heat’s victory on Sunday night, sharpshooter Duncan Robinson of the Miami Heat gave San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama, the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, a “welcome to the NBA” moment.

Wembanyama was driven baseline by Robinson, who then pretended to be heading back toward the 3-point line.

Wembanyama committed to the fake and leaned toward Robinson, who quickly dribbled past the big man for a layup. It was a fantastic play that sparked a lively discussion on social media among Heat supporters and other NBA fans.

Robinson, who is more renowned for his shooting prowess than his ball handling abilities, undoubtedly demonstrated to Wembanyama the difficulty of playing defense in the NBA.

An analyst brought up a clip from the Knuckleheads podcast, which features Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles questioning players about their first real NBA beating.

In the unlikely event that Wembanyama joins the podcast, the analyst foresaw the discussion.

Robinson’s deft move startled other NBA players, especially because it’s not something he does every night.

Wembanyama was outclassed by Robinson, according to a Heat fan, so he won’t be considered the best player of all time.

Going one step further, Mike Ryan of the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz contrasted Wembanyama’s early-career stats with those of players like Robinson and Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier.

Ryan might have been a little too hard on the rookie, but that doesn’t change the fact that Robinson took a strong stance against Wembanyama.

In spite of the Heat’s lack of guard Tyler Herro, Robinson had a fantastic game on Sunday, scoring 26 points on 8 of 16 field goals (4 of 7 from beyond the arc) and dishing out five rebounds and four assists.

Miami won by five points after outscoring the Spurs by seven points in the fourth quarter.

When both players conclude their careers, Wembanyama might prove to be a superior player than Robinson, but the Heat shooting specialist will always remember this play.
