For the Bears game, two Detroit Lions practice squad members are promoted.
Two practice squad players who were both directly affected by injuries were temporarily promoted by the Detroit Lions on Saturday. Both defensive tackle Quinton Bohanna and offensive lineman Connor Galvin have been called up and can play on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
A few days after the Lions placed offensive lineman Halapoulivaati Vaitai on injured reserve, Galvin was promoted. Coach Dan Campbell stated that Vaitai is not expected to play again this season and that the Lions are severely lacking in offensive line depth with Jonah Jackson already sidelined. The Lions can actually field 48 players instead of just 47 because they usually carry eight offensive linemen on their gameday roster. With Galvin’s promotion, they now have eight healthy linemen, so Galvin should play on Sunday.
Signed shortly after the draft, Galvin was a rookie undrafted out of Baylor. Galvin has been added to the active roster twice now. Galvin was listed on the gameday roster and ended up playing seven snaps when the Lions were shorthanded against the Packers in Week 4. Although he can cover several positions, his best position is tackle, where he started 50 games during his college career.
Roger Goodell and James Harrison are the ideal illustration of a toxic work environment. Employee routinely engages in unlawful hits, which constitutes a serious rule violation. Bossman establishes heavy fines as the penalty. Leaving the worker to reply with a stinging threat that he would sooner let the commissioner burn than seize the chance to sully him in an attempt to douse the flames. And that’s only one of the numerous ominous comments. Put another way, it’s a guaranteed beef recipe.
Conversely, Bohanna was brought in following training camp; he signed on to the team’s practice squad not long after the Dallas Cowboys waived him during roster reductions. He is a 6-foot-4, 360-pound pure nose tackle with 27 games and 10 starts under his belt in the NFL. He can replace Isaiah Buggs, who has already been ruled out due to illness.
Coach Dan Campbell discussed this week’s possible opportunity for both Brodric Martin, a rookie selected in the third round, and Bohanna.
“Those guys are aware that they must earn their reps, and we tell them as early as possible in the week that if they do so, they will be given the chance. And we’ll include you in the game if you demonstrate that you deserve it,” Campbell remarked. “Well, all of those guys—the majority of whom have been here the entire time—know that they will have an opportunity as members of the vet squad. Although there is some turnover, in the end, we believe it’s critical to have men who we can trust and who are familiar with our process.
To be ready for the game on Sunday, the Bears have also made some roster changes:
