Brentford now planning for Bryan Mbeumo development amid Newcastle United transfer interest..
Bryan Mbeumo continues to be linked with a move to Newcastle United.
Newcastle United, of course, boast one of the form right-wingers in the Premier League right now in Jacob Murphy but the links with Mbeumo continue.
Murphy has been in fine form for Newcastle this season, scoring eight goals while registering 11 assists and looking like the team’s best player right now.
Still, the Newcastle United squad lacks options behind Murphy. Miguel Almiron left the club in January and was not replaced at the time, meaning there is no natural right-winger to act as cover and competition.

Newcastle are interested in Mbeumo, who has been impressing this season himself. The Brentford forward has bagged 16 Premier League goals this season from what is usually a right-wing position, while also registering five assists in 32 starts.
Liverpool are also interested in Mbeumo and a fresh report lifts the lid on Brentford’s thinking.

Bryan Mbeumo stats compared to Newcastle star Jacob Murphy
Potentially signing Mbeumo does not have to mean the end for Murphy. The Newcastle forward has more than justified his place in the squad.
Still, Newcastle will be on some sort of European campaign next season, albeit the exact competition they will be playing in is yet to have been decided.
With that in mind, signing some cover and competition for Murphy would be wise. There’s no reason both Mbeumo and Murphy couldn’t coexist in the same squad. It’d be a similar situation to the one Harvey Barnes and Anthony Gordon are in on the left-wing.

As is listed above, Mbeumo beats Murphy on almost every attacking metric other than assists. That’s not to criticise the Newcastle star in any way, only to underline what a good signing the Brentford star would be.
