However, it has not all been doom and gloom, with some real bright sparks emerging from the summer transfer window.

Jake O’Brien has flourished under Moyes and has really nailed down the spot at right-back.

But the upcoming summer transfer window is going to be an interesting one for Everton, with players being needed to bolster the squad.

With Everton looking to add to their side, Ian Wright has issued a message which The Friedkin Group must listen to ahead of the summer transfer window.

The England international shocked the world by scoring two stunning free-kicks against Real Madrid and Wright now feels Arsenal secured themselves a bargain.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Wright admitted Moyes was actually justified in wanting another £50m for Rice when he was at West Ham.

“I remember David Moyes saying: ‘We [West Ham] haven’t got enough for him.’ Remember him saying that he wanted £150m for him,” said Wright.

“I know now we can all say David Moyes was right, but since Declan’s been at Arsenal, he’s made that fee look embarrassing.”

This comes into relevancy on Merseyside as Jarrad Branthwaite is receiving a lot of interest from other Premier League clubs.

And if the Friedkins are to consider selling Branthwaite, they should be listening to what Wright has just said.

The Friedkins will demand huge money for Jarrad Branthwaite
If Branthwaite is to push for a move away in the summer, then there is not a huge deal Everton can do to stop him.

However, the Friedkins remain in a powerful position as the 22-year-old still has two years remaining on his del.

It has been suggested Manchester United will offer £50m for Branthwaite and that will surely be laughed away.

After being snubbed by England, Moyes told Branthwaite he doesn’t need to leave Everton if he is to §reach his England dream.

Moyes has been proven right about Rice in the past and this must act as a warning to the Everton owners when it comes to Branthwaite’s future.
