Man Utd Must Finally Get Rid of £150000-a-week Star Alongside Onana…
Manchester United’s dismal season got even worse on Sunday after they suffered a 4-1 battering at the hands of Champions League-chasing Newcastle United – and although the usual scapegoats of Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund dominate the headlines in terms of player sales in the summer, one player that must leave in the off-season is midfielder Christian Eriksen.
United were somehow level at 1-1 going into the second half, despite having half as many shots as the Magpies – but the home side’s tenaciousness and energy told in the second half with a Harvey Barnes brace being followed up by a calamitous Altay Bayindir error that allowed Bruno Guimaraes to put the cherry on the cake.
Man Utd Need to Sell Christian Eriksen Alongside Others
The Dane has come to a stale end to his United career

It was another poor showing, a similar tale that United fans have come to endure a lot this season, with Bayindir and Noussair Mazraoui in particular contributing with errors leading to goals. But Eriksen’s performance riled up a lot of the crowd, with fans turning on the Dane – and it’s clear to see why.

At 33 years of age, Eriksen is in the twilight of his career and that has been proven with just 10 starts so far this season – though they have become more frequent in recent weeks with three from five since the start of March in the Premier League.
But despite the evident quality on the ball that he’s shown throughout the years, Eriksen massively struggled in Ruben Amorim’s setup against Newcastle’s tenacious and boisterous midfield. He’s never been a physically imposing player, though he did use to top the standings when it came to distance covered – but with his legs starting to go, he’s a shadow of his former self.
On his day, Eriksen is a top creator, and with 80 assists in just 305 Premier League appearances split between his time at Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford and United, there’s no denying that.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Christian Eriksen has 17 assists in 101 games for Manchester United.
But the 140-time Denmark cap is slowing down in his career and with his estimated £150,000-per-week contract up in the summer, it’s the right time for him to depart for pastures new if United and Eriksen are both to move on from what has been an absolute horror campaign for all involved at domestic level.
