Everton make approach to seal early Merlin Rohl transfer in new developments…

Everton have now turned their attention to the summer transfer window, having all but secured their Premier League status.

The Toffees bounced back from last week’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby with a 1-1 draw against second-place Arsenal on Saturday.

David Moyes’ men looked set for their second consecutive defeat when Leandro Trossard got the better of Jordan Pickford.

But Iliman Ndiaye scored from the penalty spot to ensure that Everton earned a point against the Gunners and are now 15 points clear of the relegation zone with seven games left.

According to German outlet Kicker on 6 April, Everton have now made contact with Rohl’s representatives ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has made nine appearances for the Germany Under-21s and met Moyes’ West Ham in the Europa League four times last season.

Now that Moyes has steered the Merseyside club clear of relegation trouble, the Blues can now look ahead to next season, when they will want to enjoy a more comfortable campaign.

Everton have gone unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 Premier League games, which suggests they could finish in the top half next term under Moyes’ impressive stewardship.

The Toffees will hope to move into their new ground with some exciting summer signings, and the potential addition of Freiburg’s Rohl could help them in that quest.

Rohl has managed just one assist and no goals this season, courtesy of injury struggles, but last term’s return of three goals and three assists is indicative of the quality at the Germany youth international’s disposal.

According to journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon, West Brom winger Grady Diangana is a target for Wolves ahead of the summer.

He has interest from the MLS at the moment but the player is reportedly holding off on a potential move to the States and is waiting for Wolves and also Leeds United to firm up their interest.
