Rashford, who is under contract at United until 2028, is currently out on loan at Aston Villa after joining the Champions League qualification hopefuls in the latter stages of the January transfer window. He has scored four goals and registered six assists in 17 games for Villa.
Despite sources indicating that Rashford has “never been happier” at Villa, who face the Reds on Sunday, it is understood United expect him to move abroad this summer, paving the way for a potential move to Barcelona, who have been linked with a move for the England international several times in recent years.
United are planning to prioritise the sales of Jadon Sancho, Rashford and Antony this summer to bring in funds to help Ruben Amorim rebuild his squad ahead of the 2025/26 season. Like Rashford, Sancho and Antony are also currently out on loan.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News last week, United have no intentions to reintegrate Rashford into their squad this summer and anticipate that he will move abroad, meaning the possibility of a move to Barcelona is plausible. He is set to be available for £40million.
Rashford has aspirations to continue playing in the Champions League after featuring in all four of Villa’s knockout games prior to their elimination at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain last month.
