Coventry City are keeping tabs on Charlton Athletic loanee Terry Taylor ahead of the summer Football League World has claimed…
Coventry City still have plenty to play for this season as they fight to earn a place in the Championship play-offs.
The Sky Blues thrust themselves back into the fight with a resurgent run under Frank Lampard after the shock decision to part ways with Mark Robins. With two games left, they sit 6th in the Championship table and three points ahead of the chasing pack.

Nonetheless, the club hierarchy will have eyes on potential summer targets regardless. Now, a new name has been linked with the promotion hopefuls.
According to a report from Football League World, one player Coventry City have their eyes on is midfielder Terry Taylor. The 23-year-old is contracted Charlton Athletic but currently on loan at Northampton Town.
The Welshman made the move to Charlton after starring at Burton Albion but having found minutes hard to come by, he linked up with the Cobblers in January.
Taylor has thoroughly impressed with Kevin Nolan’s side and ahead of his return to South London this summer, Coventry City have been monitoring his situation alongside other unnamed teams.

A surprise target?
Given that Taylor struggled to make the breakthrough with a top League One side, it would be a bit of a surprise to see him jump up to an ambitious Championship side with Premier League football on their radar like Coventry City.
Taylor is a highly thought of midfielder having starred at Burton and his Charlton Athletic move was a deserved one. But, owing to injury and significant competition, he has found chances hard to come by.

His Northampton Town loan has served as a reminder of what he can offer in League One and a summer move is not out of the question, though eyebrows would be raised if he made the jump up to the Sky Blues.
Midfield options at Coventry City
Coventry City currently boast one of the Championship’s strongest midfields.

Jack Rudoni has thoroughly impressed in an advanced role this season while Matt Grimes has made a big impact since joining from Swansea City in January. The third place in the middle has been rotated a little but Jamie Allen has been regularly utilised in Ben Sheaf’s absence, while Victor Torp has progressed this season too.
It means there would be very strong competition for Taylor if he was to link up with Lampard’s Sky Blues. However, he could be a solid squad player to call upon.
FOOTBALL – Jay Dasilva admits Coventry City’s play-off fate is down to the players..
JAY Dasilva admits it is down to the players as to whether or not Coventry City finish in the play-off places this season.
The Sky Blues produced a below-par display in a 3-1 defeat at bottom club Plymouth Argyle at Home Park on Easter Monday.
However, Coventry remain sixth in the Championship table after results elsewhere went in their favour.
And Dasilva insists the Sky Blues must right the wrongs of their defeat at Plymouth in their next outing.
Dasilva said: “We were all below par. Every one of us knows that. It wasn’t our best performance, and we just weren’t quite at it.
“At this stage of the season, it’s something we’re looking to put right next game. It was quite difficult to break them down, they sat and defended pretty well but I just feel that we weren’t quite at our best.

“Luckily, results went our way elsewhere, so we have another chance to put it right and make it up to the fans next week. Two big games now. It’s down to us.
“It’s hard to play against anyone every week in the Championship. Plymouth are fighting to stay in the league, and you can see how much it meant to them but it’s not really an excuse for us.
“I think we have to just worry about us and focus on us and make sure that we’re on our game to beat anyone.”
Despite the defeat, Dasilva praised the travelling Sky Blues supporters and believes Coventry have the best fans in the Championship.
Dasilva added: “We are going to have to learn and make sure we’re better. We have to make sure we’re ready for that test, make sure we are better and then go and get the three points.
“The fans once again, unbelievable travelling support, singing right to the end and giving us so much support.
“We have the best fans in the league. We love playing for them.
“They help us so much and we appreciate all the support that they give us and they support us right until the end.”
Coventry are next in action against Luton Town on Saturday, April 26 with kick-off at 12.30pm at Kenilworth Road.
