Heading into the Premier League is a difficult road for newly promoted clubs. Leeds United will have some of that experience this summer. Recent seasons have shown a worrying trend in the top flight.
In the last two seasons, all three promoted clubs have gone back down to the Championship. It shows clear proof that the gap in quality between the divisions continues to grow each year. Even with the huge fees these newly promoted gap make, they cannot really buy enough quality to be competitive.

The Whites could always go back for one of their man targets last summer. Daniel Farke was right to be a big fan of the midfielder. This season, he had 10 goals and seven assists in the Championship. Hamer’s all action play style would have been a perfect fit in the number 10 role for Daniel Farke. Leeds should hope that the Blades fail to win promotion to make a possible deal this summer very easy to complete.
Jobe Bellingham
This would be a very difficult deal to complete considering the outside interest for the midfield star. But Leeds United is a huge step up from Sunderland. Elland Road would be the perfect environment for this future England star to develop his game. His dynamism and playmaking would be influential in the Leeds midfield. The asking price would be the only difficulty.
Haji Wright
Leeds need a striker to provide competition for Joel Piroe, why not find one from the Championship? Haji Wright is a menacing presence upfront and could provide a more dynamic option than Piroe in games. Wright has scored 30 goals in the Championship over the last two seasons, a tally similar to Leeds’ current striker. The American could be available on a decent deal this summer.
