The Michigan Wolverines triumph over the Washington Huskies and return home to yelling supporters.

ANN ARBOR, Michigan: The Michigan Wolverines, the national champions, defeated the Washington Huskies 34–13 on Tuesday night, bringing them home to raucous cheers from the crowd.

“I am really grateful that you could come,” head coach Jim Harbaugh said. “We never lost sight of our lofty aspirations and high goals.”

Kris Jenkins, a defensive tackle, also gave thanks to the audience.

Jenkins remarked, “You have no idea how much we appreciate all of your love and support—from the bottom of our hearts.” What did we say when everyone else was skeptical of us and didn’t think we could succeed? Whoa!

Cries of “One more year!” greeted junior quarterback J.J. McCarthy, urging him to return to assist in defending the national title the following autumn.

I don’t know how I could leave you all, let me just say that,” McCarthy remarked. “It captures everything that makes this place feel like home to me. And please know that I genuinely adore each and every one of you.

The university planned to make announcements on Wednesday morning about the formal celebration that will take place in Ann Arbor on Saturday.
