Swansea City striker Joel Piroe is ‘expected’ to cost around £15 million this summer, amid interest from Leicester City and Leeds United among others.
The striker has emerged as a potential target for Enzo Maresca in the transfer window as he looks to add to his attacking options. City have so far added four new players to their squad.
Harry Winks, Conor Coady, Callum Doyle and Mads Hermansen have all arrived this summer. But more new faces are expected between now and the end of the window as City look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
One player who City have been heavily linked with is Piroe. The Dutchman was of interest to the club a year ago, with Swansea said to be asking for a fee of around £20 million, but finances meant that a deal could not happen.
Last season saw him score a total of 20 goals in all competitions, so it’s no surprise City look to have retained their interest. But they are not the only club, with Leeds United, Southampton and Atalanta also said to be eyeing the player this summer.
Piroe has one-year remaining on his contract with Swansea, meaning he could be available for a cheaper price this summer. According to the Mail , Pire is expected to cost in the region of £15 million.
Swansea were said to hope to hold ‘crunch talks’ with Piroe over the weekend, where his valuation would be discussed. If the Swans don’t sell the striker this summer, they risk losing him for nothing in a year’s time.
Giving the latest update, Swans’ manager Michael Duff revealed that the club are yet to receive any official offers for the player so far this summer. He’s been absolutely top drawer,” he told WalesOnline . “It’s [speculation] been everywhere but we haven’t had a bid.”

Leeds United Target Taking Huge Pay Cut To Join Stuttgart
Leeds United target Alexander Nubel is reducing his salary by a whopping 50 per cent in order to sign for Stuttgart on loan.
The goalkeeper returned to Bayern Munich this summer following a two-year loan at Monaco and Leeds boss Daniel Farke has been keen on him.
Leeds are missing out on the 26-year-old though and in a sign of just how keen he is to join Stuttgart, he has accepted a huge salary cut.
Nubel will earn €3m per year at Stuttgart, according to German daily Bild (via Fussball Transfers), which is half the €6m he would have taken home at Bayern Munich.
He will join on a season-long loan deal and Stuttgart will not have an option to buy included in the agreement.
A medical is set to take place on Tuesday, as Nubel moves to put the finishing touches to the switch.
Leeds meanwhile remain in the hunt for a goalkeeper and have also shown interest in Newcastle United’s Karl Darlow.
A question mark also remains over Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier, who has been widely tipped to leave Elland Road this summer.

They claim that Coventry have already launched a bid to try and sign Van Ewijk this summer.

Mark Robin’s men have dipped into the Dutch market with success before too having landed Gustavo Hamer.

Who is Leeds United target Milan van Ewijk?
Van Ewijk was born in Amsterdam but rather than start in the ranks Ajax, his first club was rivals Feyenoord.
Released as a teenager, Van Ewijk moved on to lower league side Excelsior Maassluis for first-team action.
Van Ewijk quickly moved on to ADO Den Haag and excelled there after a loan spell at Cambuur.
The 22-year-old joined Heerenveen in 2021 and has impressed going forward, bagging six goals and three assists in all competitions last season.
A right back with blistering pace, Van Ewijk has been linked with big moves in recent times.
Fulham were interested in January whilst Sporting looked at Van Ewijk to replace Tottenham star Pedro Porro.
The Championship could be Van Ewijk’s destination now though with Coventry and Leeds fighting it out.
Do Leeds United need another right back?
Leeds have allowed one right back to leave the club with Rasmus Kristensen joining Roma on loan.
Luke Ayling is an option there whilst Cody Drameh is now back with the club after being on loan at Luton Town.
A move back to Luton doesn’t seem likely now they have signed Issa Kabore, but Drameh will still be attracting interest.
If Leeds do end up selling Drameh, Van Ewijk could be his replacement – but they must hope that Coventry don’t get there first.
